A light touch in Slough

Constructed some twenty years ago, the office building at 258 Bath Road, Slough comprises three storeys, split into east and west with a central core. SEGRO occupy the first floor east and the whole of the second floor, and Furniture Village occupy the ground floor west.

Watkins Payne have provided building services engineering to refurbish the ground floor east comprising 3,477ft2 and the first floor west comprising 7,088ft2.

As the existing mechanical and electrical services were in good condition, only a light touch was needed to extend the building’s M&E serviceable life for another ten years. The on-floor VAV system was overhauled and provides the offices with cooled or heated air controlled by the air handling units located at roof level. The new ceiling grid introduced into the office space has been provided with energy efficient LED luminaires.
