In the BCO Awards 2016, the Regional Award for the Commercial Workplace category was won by I & II Pinehurst, Farnborough Business Park, for which Watkins Payne provided the building services consultancy role.
I & II Pinehurst was praised by the judges for reflecting the needs of the modern worker whilst still being sympathetic to the neighbouring architecture. The development was also commended for its careful selection of materials – combining a variety of quality cladding which anchor the buildings into the textured landscape that surrounds it. Overall, the judges felt that the office offered a well-designed, efficient and flexible working environment.
The two buildings provide 110,000ft² of office space and achieved a Very Good BREEAM rating.
The Regional Award covers the South West, Thames Valley & South Wales.

A Grade II Listed Building in the St James’s conservation area, 8 Waterloo Place has been refurbished to offer 22,500ft² of high quality office accommodation and 8,700ft² of restaurant shell unit, for which Watkins Payne supplied building services engineering, BREEAM duties and energy consultancy to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and an EPC B rating.

Unit 8, in Tangmere Business Park near Chichester, has been provided with a complete refurbishment giving both the warehouse and associated office space attached a much needed re-fresh and new feel.

Watkins Payne carried out the Independent Design Review role for Seal House, a commercial office development, located in central London.

The MEP services were all replaced with a focus on energy efficiency using air source heat pumps, LED lighting and natural ventilation where possible.
